Up at 4:30! Some holiday this is! 7 hour drive ahead to Mombasa...
Blog of our second trip to Kenya. I'm gunning for pics or dead animals and poverty contrasted against the luxury afforded to the first world people.

Tea time concert
When to see Alex in a 'tea time concert', which is a selection of the kids at her school playing instruments and singing. Some were awful some were OK, a couple very good. They didn't serve beer :-(
Working
What the? Went into BATUK barracks today to pick up car for our trip to Mombasa, bit of a shed. Then we had to sort money, post, shopping and have tea and toast. Felt like being in work with all the whining army folk!
Arrived
Quite a long day. Manchester airport was a joke, what is the point in checking in online if the queues still take forever? We are only 'dropping bags off'!! Then the security check in had a massive queue with people who had arrived in plenty of time panicking that they were going to miss their flight, so so slow.
On the up side it meant we didn't have much time to sit around, we pretty much got straight on the plane. Plane to Paris was a newish one, specially designed for these short flights, decent room and a decent journey. Charles de Gaulle airport is very grey, every single building just looks unfinished and a bit of a mess. Inside it reminds me of a train station. Sat around for an hour before hopping on the plane for 8 and a half hours, joy. Bit of turbulence and pilot couldn't keep it straight when coming n to land but we made it. Then the joys of the Visa desk. Kenyans certainly don't rush, unless they are driving.
Now in the Lee mansion having tried to catch up on some sleep, the ladies are having their nails and stuff done. The blokes are picking up the car we are using to drive to Mombasa tomorrow and a new beer fridge. A near catastrophic deisaster in the house, the old be has broken!!!
And the wifi in this house is shocking!
